RTS games are a genre that's been around for a long time, and have gotten pretty crowded as well. There's the Command & Conquer line, various war sims such as Real War, the Warcraft/Starcraft (Blizzard) approach, Microsoft's "Age of..." approach, and there were even a couple of FPS fusions called BattleZone and BattleZone II. 

Up new from Eidos is something we haven't seen recently; an RTS that focuses specifically on Roman combat. It only has three civilizations -- Roman, Gaul, and Egyptian -- but within those three has quite a lot to offer.
