Reviewed: Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven
Producer: Activision
Required System: PS2

Ninja games are one of these things everyone seems to find "cool". Aside from the Tenchu series, however, they've rarely been "real" ninja games, but more often of the Shinobi variety, shooter games with a ninja as the main character.

By contrast, the Tenchu line (and Wrath of Heaven in particular) do a very good job of putting forth what people have always found exceptionally fun about the whole Ninja mythos, that being the stealth aspect. The game's mechanic revolves around patience, timing, and most importantly the ability to avoid getting needlessly greedy. This is NOT a game for button mashers, but for strategists who can bide their time for that one-shot kill.
