The question on most gamers' minds ever since the fall of 3dfx has been, "Who will take over and give NVidia some hard competition?" While the obvious choices were Matrox and ATi, this was not to be; both companies focus on producing feature-rich rather than ultra high-performance boards. Enter the Kyro II chipset, from ST Microelectronics. Hercules put this on a board, and gave us the 3D Prophet 4500, which manages to outperform the value boards and come in at a great value for its price.
