Capcom has traditionally give us extremely scary survival/horror games, like the Resident Evil and Dino Crisis series. These games were based on one premise: you're stuck, surrounded by hordes of frightening creatures out to kill you/eat you, and you're just about out of ammunition.  While it's a decent system to set a horror game in, it eventually gets boring.

Enter Devil May Cry, a survival/horror game with a twist.  This time, it's not zombies or dinosaurs out to get you, but demons of all sorts. Secondly, you're not outgunned.  These things ought to be afraid of YOU.
